Happy St. Patrick's Day
We hope you all had a fantastic March Break! Let's hope Spring really is around the corner.......
We enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day this year. Usually, this holiday falls within March Break so we don't have the opportunity to celebrate. Students got to reach into a pot of gold and find a gold coin that had a letter written on it. They had to tell their friends the name of the letter and the sound it makes. Later, we filled the pot of gold with green rice and students got a chance to dig for gold!

Miss Mammarella offered the students an opportunity to complete a St. Patrick's Day writing activity. They were asked to complete the sentence, "If I found a pot of gold, I would .....". Students used the Word Wall and their knowledge of letter and sound relationships to complete the activity.
Pink Day
Our class did an outstanding job dressing up for Pink Day. We talked about how we could help others and "Be a Buddy, Not a Bully". We worked together to decorate our door with an "Anti-Bullying" theme.

Exploring 3D Solids
We have been busy exploring 3D solids in our classroom. Students were challenged to look around their house and bring in different kinds of 3D solids. We had a variety of spheres, cylinders, cubes, cones, and rectangular prisms. Students had the opportunity to show their object to their classmates, name it and identify the name of the solid it resembles. We then created a 3D Museum, displaying all of our objects.
This student discovered that when he shone the flashlight through the pink ball, it created a pink reflection in the binoculars. Great observation!
