Savvy Scientists
We have begun our Science Unit by having students answer the question - "What is Science?" Have a look at their amazing responses!
Amazing Alphabet Activities
We have been building our knowledge of letters and sounds. Students were invited to cover the letter S with sand. Stay tuned for more pictures about our exploration with letters and sounds!
Sensational Sorting
We recently began our Data Management Unit, discussing the concept of sorting. Mrs Versteeg dumped a pile of objects onto the carpet and asked students if any of them were alike. Students came up and sorted the objects into groups, based on how they were alike. The objects were sorted by type, colour, size, and shape.
Mrs Versteeg then challenged the students by sorting them into different groups! Some of the sorting rules were very tricky to figure out! See if you can guess.

Radical Readers
As always, we are busy reading in our classroom. We have been participating in a great deal of shared reading, where students and Educators read together. Students are attempting to read the material on their own during Activity Time - a wonderful sight to see! We have begun reading a variety of poems in our Poetry Books as well. Great job boys and girls!
Magnificent Math
We placed some numbered magnetic sticks and paper clips on a table. Students were invited to place the corresponding number of paper clips on each popsicle stick.
Guess Who? Portraits
All students were invited to create a portrait of themselves. They were provided with a face template, a mirror, some pencil crayons, and some yarn. We have them hanging on our wall, and they don't have names on them. Students are trying to guess who is who!
Busy Builders
Our friends have been busy building different structures in our classroom. They have been working together to make amazing creations.
