Savvy Scientists!
We have been exploring our 5 senses. The students listed what they could see, hear, taste, touch, and smell.
The students played a game where they had to close their eyes, and guess who was saying "Guess Who?" While we had a few "cheaters", the students did a wonderful job of recognizing the different voices of their friends.

Our First Art Gallery Visit
We were treated to Miss Amy visiting our classroom this morning and helping us to create some masterpieces of art. The students worked step by step, and the results were fantastic. We will keep them at school to display for a couple of weeks.
Happy Halloween!
The students enjoyed carving pumpkins in a small group. Each group brainstormed a design for their Jack O'Lantern, gave it a name, and emptied the "guts". Some students enjoyed it more than others!!
We invited the students to participate in a "Write the Room" number game. Pictures of various Halloween objects were hung around the room. Each students was invited to count the objects and print the corresponding number on their Recording Sheet. Every student was so excited and engaged in this activity. Stay tuned for more Write the Room activities in the future!
The students in the class were invited to create their own Jack O'Lantern art using eyes, mouths, and other facial features from magazines. They looked hysterical and the students had a great time.
Just a couple of pictures from our Halloween Celebration..............
Fabulous Fall!
We were discussing the different seasons, and the types of weather that occur during the winter, spring, summer, and fall.
A couple of students decided to create their own chart of the Seasons of the Year. Great job friends!
We decided to go on a fall walk on our back playground. Each child was given a paper bag to find various fall items. When we returned inside, students were invited to create a piece of art using the materials that they found.
A Day in the Life of our Classroom
Here are a few pictures that capture what our classroom looks like during Learning Activity Time. Students are invited to explore the different areas in our classroom, and engage in activities like puzzles, colouring or creating art, various literacy and math games, and building structures.
It's a very active environment, and the students are busy building upon their social and problem solving skills.
Welcome to Kindergarten!
Hello Parents!! Our blog will be up and running shortly. We will post pictures of some of the activities that we are exploring in class, as well as celebrations of our accomplishments.
Please remember this is a snapshot of the learning happening in our classroom. It's a busy place!!

Students of the Month
Congratulations to our students of the month for April! These students earned awards for working hard on their reading skills, art work, listening skills, having a positive attitude, and always deepening their learning through great questions and inquiries.
Planting our Grass
The students showed an interest in planting, so we decided to give them the opportunity to plant grass. The students scooped some soil into a pot, added seeds, and topped it up with a bit more soil. We watered our grass every day, and recorded our observations in our Plant Logs. The students were excited to bring them home to you on Thursday!
Happy Mother's Day!
We hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day. The students had a magnificent time making muffins for you!! We heard that some of the students ate them for you - how generous of them!!
