Baby Party

These students were making a party for the babies!  It was wonderful to see these "dads" at work, feeding and playing with "their children".

Making Words

Students had the opportunity to make words out of letter tiles.  The teacher gave them a word to spell and they had to find the correct tiles, put them in order, and read the word.  Excellent job!

Lakeview's Flower Shop

We have turned our Dramatic Play area into a Flower Shop.  Students have been busy taking orders for their customers, as well as making various flower arrangements.

Making Globes

The students had a wonderful time making globes out of paper mache.

Earth Day Celebrations

In conjunction with Earth Day, we made a list of what we could do to help our Earth.  The students completed a writing activity where they wrote about what they could do.

We then made headbands that said "I love earth".

Sink or Float

These students decided to have an impromptu investigation about "Sink or Float".  They found different items in the classroom and tested what they would do if they placed them in a bin of water.

Magic Magnets

In preparation for our upcoming Scientists in School Magnet Workshop, we have been exploring the effects of magnets.  Each pair of students were invited to share a magnet and find things in the classroom that the magnet stuck to.  They then recorded/drew a picture of them on a piece of chart paper.  We discussed items that surprised us, either by sticking or not sticking to the horseshoe magnet or magnetic wand.

The Drama Continues.....

The students have been busy creating props for "Puppet Shows".  While we have encouraged the children to rehearse their show, often we end up with a spontaneous act!

The students have been volunteering to come and sing for their classmates.  We have had to allot some time at the end of our day for their performances.

Making Math Racks

We have been using our classroom Math Racks to make different combinations of numbers.  Students were invited to make their own math racks.  They were so engaged in this activity, that many wanted to make one for a younger sibling!

This student loved playing with the math racks in our small group learning time that she started to record her own combinations during Activity Time.

March Students of the Month

Congratulations to the students of the month for March!  Great job friends!

Easter Egg Extravaganza

The students had a wonderful time colouring eggs today.

Wondering about Circles

The students have been talking about circles with Mrs H in art class.  They made circles with their bodies and then all contributed to a classroom mural, drawing different sizes and colours of circles.
