Art Gallery Time

The students did a wonderful job as artists when the Niagara Falls Art Gallery visited this week.  We discussed texture and how different objects feel, and used various materials to create our final product.  Excellent work artists!

Construction Site

Due to our students interest in structures, we turned our Dramatic Play area into a Construction Site. The students are loving this centre, and showing wonderful turn-taking and cooperation skills.

Structural Engineers at Work!

The students in our class love to build structures, using different materials in our classroom.  The Educators have commented on how every student contributes to these structures.  In other years, we have had to "encourage" some students to visit the Building Centre.  Not this year!

Letter Vests

We are using letter vests to put sounds together to read words.  The students love this activity, and are given turns wearing the vests and sounding out the words.

Patterning

We were talking about Patterning during our large group lessons.  It's always wonderful to see students extend this knowledge during Activity Time.

Santa's Workshop

In December, we changed our Dramatic Play area into Santa's Workshop.  

Popcorn Word Awards

Congratulations to these SK students who received their Popcorn Awards for identifying all of our Kindergarten sight words.  Way to go!

We're Back!

My apologies for not updating the blog sooner.  Life just gets too busy sometimes!  I am posted a lot of activities today.  They may not be in the order we did them in class, but it will give you a glimpse into our day.
