We have started a Measurement Inquiry in our class. These students were exploring the balance scale, comparing the weight of different objects in our classroom.

Celebrating Pink Day
The students wore pink and red to show that they could stand up to bullying on Pink Day.
100th Day of School Exercises
The students were lucky to have Miss B lead them through a challenge of completing 100 exercises!
100th Day of School
The students did an excellent job counting their 100 objects. We made Counting Mats with our Buddies, and divided our items into ten groups of ten, making it easier to count to 100.
Find Your Partner Math Matching
Students were each given either a number or a ten-frame card. They had to "work the room" and find their matching partner. Three students took on the role as "checkers", and made sure they were matched correctly. They loved it so much we did it 5 times!
Savvy Scientists
We have been talking about the Scientific Process during our Inquiries. In this experiment, students tried and tried to mix water and oil, and learned that they will always separate, no matter how hard you try!

Scientists in the Classroom
We had a fantastic time with the Scientists in the Classroom. We learned about Simple Machines. Check out the pictures below as we play with ramps, pulleys, levers, etc.
