Although we talk about this topic daily, we will be concentrating on 2D and 3D shapes over the next month. We began with a discussion on the characteristics of some 2D shapes and students sorted classroom objects into the correct category. Students gave a thumbs up or thumbs down if they agreed with a students choice.
The students noticed a variety of shapes on a table one day. They were different sizes and colours. The students were invited to create a picture using the shapes. The students named their picture. The teachers were impressed with their creativity!
